The ideal Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio for human health is suggested to be 1:1. However, modern Western diets have significantly skewed this ratio to as high as 16.7:1. This imbalance can contribute to inflammation and various chronic diseases.
Studies indicate that a higher Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio is linked to increased risk of diseases, while higher Omega-3 levels have anti-inflammatory and suppressive effects. A lower ratio is associated with a reduced risk of chronic diseases.
